No Kings. No Silence. Just Us.

Every organizing story starts the same way… with people deciding that community still matters.

That’s exactly what your local Democrats are doing in Anderson County.

For the first time in longer than we want to admit, Democrats across our county are coming coming back together, not just to talk politics, but to rebuild the local foundation that makes democracy possible. The meetings, the rallies, the conversations around kitchen tables, every single one is connected.

Because everything we’re building now determines what’s possible here in Anderson County in 2026.

We have big plans rolling out: district networks, year-round organizing, and new ways to bring people in from every corner of the county. With each step, we’re building momentum and turning it into machinery. The kind that wins elections and strengthens communities long after the campaign signs come down.

That work starts here at the local level, in the places where people still know each other’s names.

Anderson County Democratic General Assembly

Clinton Community Center | Thursday, October 16, 6:00 p.m.

Tomorrow night, we’re gathering for something we haven’t done in far too long… a full General Assembly for Anderson County Democrats.

These assemblies are going to become a regular heartbeat for our party: a space for Democrats from every corner of the county to come together, connect, and get on the same page.

Each one will feature a mix of speakers, candidates, and action points for the month — the information, energy, and direction that keep our local movement growing between election seasons.

This first one is about getting our feet wet again. We’ll talk about how people are feeling, what’s happening in our districts, and where we’re headed together. It’s a chance to listen, share, and start rebuilding the kind of community that makes organizing possible.

No long speeches. No closed doors. Just a room full of neighbors ready to start shaping what comes next.

If you’ve been waiting for the moment to plug back in, this is it. See you Thursday night in Clinton.

Let us know to expect you!

No Kings Rally

Along Oak Ridge Turnpike, in front of the Civic Center and High School
Saturday, October 18, 3:00–5:00 p.m.

On Saturday, we take that energy to the streets.

Anderson County will host one of more than a dozen No Kings Rallies happening across Tennessee. Peaceful. Nonpartisan. Gatherings for anyone who’s looking around and saying, “this isn’t right.”

We’ll stand along the Oak Ridge Turnpike, in front of the Civic Center and High School, with friends and partners from Norris Area Indivisible, Indivisible RAM, and the Southern Resistance Coalition. Together, we’re sending a message that democracy belongs to the people… not to power.

Let us know you’ll be standing with us here.

This event is open to everyone who believes in accountability, transparency, and local control. You don’t have to be a Democrat to stand against overreach. You just have to believe that no one is above the people they serve.

Parking: Please park in the High School lot. Leave the Library and Senior Center lots open for attendees with mobility needs.
Safety: This is a peaceful, nonviolent event. Do not engage with counter-protesters. Stay calm, stay kind, and stay safe.
Event volunteers will be clearly marked in blue safety vests — they’ll have water and can assist if there’s an issue. If you see a problem, find one of them immediately.
Bring water, sunscreen, a chair if you need one, and signs that speak from the heart.

This will be the only afternoon No Kings Rally in East Tennessee, timed so everyone can take part and still make it home before the Tennessee–Alabama game.

Join us Saturday

Saturday is about standing together. Not in anger, but in conviction. Not in fear, but in hope.

Bring your friends, your signs, and your courage. We’ll see you along the Turnpike.

Before the rally, stop by the All Abilities Fair (10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. at the Oak Ridge Civic Center), hosted by the All Abilities Alliance — a celebration of inclusion and access that reminds us what real community looks like.
