RE: Norris Resolution Requesting 287(g) Agreement with Federal Immigration Enforement // OFFICIAL STATEMENT
On Monday (6/9), the Norris City Council will vote on a resolution asking the Anderson County Sheriff to enter into a federal immigration enforcement agreement. If passed and agreed to, it would shift federal duties to local deputies - and Anderson County taxpayers would be stuck with the bill. The Anderson County Democratic Party is calling on residents across the county to speak out, show up, and say: Not in our name.

Let’s Lift Each Other Up: Introducing Our Community Boost
We believe no one is powerless when we stand together. That’s why we’ve launched our Community Boost Form—a new way to amplify local efforts that lift up equity, justice, democracy, and community care. Because this work isn’t about credit, it’s about connection. Let’s build something that lasts—together.

The Quiet Work That Moves Mountains
It isn’t glamorous. It doesn’t happen all at once. It rarely earns headlines or hashtags. But the work we’re doing in Anderson County — the organizing, the listening, the relentless showing up — it’s moving something.
If you stop and feel the ground beneath you, and you notice a low, steady rumble…That movement you feel?
It’s us.

DEI: The Three Letters Republicans Love to Hate - And the Fourth One They Want You to Forget
Here’s what they don’t want you to know: the government’s definition isn’t just DEI—it’s DEIA. That last letter stands for Accessibility.
And now, as Trump’s Education Department prepares for its final days under Linda McMahon, that “A” is being erased right along with everything else.

The Anderson County Republican Party Doesn’t Care About Public Schools—They Want to Control Them
Anderson County Republican Chair Myra Mansfield just admitted what we’ve suspected all along: Republicans don’t think school boards exist to serve students.
They said the quiet part out loud. Public schools aren’t here for politicians. They exist to educate our kids. If Republicans don’t believe that, they don’t belong anywhere near our schools.

Feeling Hopeless? Get Out and Get Moving.
I walked out of Democratic HQ feeling exhausted, frustrated, and mad. So many people are already talking like we’ve lost. But we haven’t.
We knew this was coming. It’s scary—but that’s exactly why we can’t give up. We’re just two weeks in—way yonder too early to throw in the towel.
