A stronger, more people-powered Anderson County Democrats begins here.
The Anderson County Democratic Party is proud to announce a major step forward in how we organize, build community, and grow leadership across Anderson County. We have officially adopted a new caucus structure that opens more ways for everyday people to take part in shaping the direction of our Party.
Below is a statement from our Chair, Chase Lindsey, on what this means for our county and our future:
Statement from the Chair
“The Anderson County Democratic Party is building the kind of political home working people deserve. One where the doors aren’t just open, but where you’re actually invited in.
Our new caucus structure says out loud that this party is built by the people who show up. Not by political lifers. Not by gatekeepers. Not by the same tired voices that have run things into the ground. It belongs to neighbors, workers, and families who want something better for Anderson County.
For too long, people have looked at politics and thought, ‘There’s no space for someone like me.’ We’re tearing that down. We’re building a party that meets people where they are, in their communities, in their lived experiences, and in the things they care about when they get home from work and look across their kitchen table.
We’re building bottom-up power, the honest kind that starts on front porches, in living rooms, and around kitchen tables. Neighbors organizing neighbors. That’s how you grow something real.
If you’re a worker, a young parent, a retiree, a veteran, a student, a caregiver (whoever you are) there is now a clear and supported pathway for you to lead inside this party. Not someday. Not when you ‘know the right people.’ Now.
This isn’t about carving the party into smaller pieces. It’s about giving more people a stake in the whole thing. It’s about giving communities a voice. It’s about moving past the old model of politics where a handful of people made all the decisions.
We didn’t just pull up a chair for folks. We added more chairs and made the table bigger.
And in the process, we’re building a party that belongs to the people who do the work, care about their neighbors, and still believe this county is worth fighting for.
If you’ve ever wondered where you fit in, right here is a good place to start.”
