We. Shall. Never. Surrender. by Eric Keller

Two quick historical notes that will add context to this blog.  First- the Republican Party has fought the New Deal ever since its conception during the Great Depression.  Despite its obvious success with the economy as well as with Americans' well-being, Republicans hated it.

Second, when the Germans overran Europe in World War II, Great Britain was the only major European democracy left standing.  Winston Churchill knew the war would come to England.  In his famous speech on 4 June 1940, he talked of... "we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall never surrender."

Roosevelt won and the New Deal, which brought Social Security and Medicare, endured.  Churchill won and the dark days of 1940 finally ended with Germany's surrender in 1945.  Great Britain endured.  So shall we.

The Republican Party and their donor class are morally bankrupt even as they hold much of America's wealth.  The party of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Eisenhower is now a party of plutocrats whose main reason for existing is to transfer income and wealth from us to their ultra-wealthy donors.  Power is their end- and the means are the destruction of the middle-class in America.  The poor will suffer more with this tax plan and they parade their indifference.  The true middle-class (median income earner) will get a pittance and then even lose that while the Republicans just do not care.  They have lost their way and turned into the Republican Plutocrat Party.

Trump and his ultra-wealthy appointees are plundering America with the able assistance of the Republican Plutocrat Party.  As several Republican Senators actually said, their donors must be kept happy with this tax plan abomination.  To be clear.  The economy will not grow as they said- only the deficit.  The worker's wages will not grow as they said, only stock dividends.  Production will not grow as they said, only the owners' compensation.

When the economy does not give all these illusive gains promised by Republicans- the next step will be to cut the deficit they increased by cutting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid for our children.  Paul Ryan already said so.  Trump already said so.  The Republican Plutocrat Party already said so.  They are coming.

We shall fight in halls of Congress.  We shall fight in the chambers of Nashville.  We shall fight in the courthouse of Anderson County.  We shall never surrender.
