Ebony M. Capshaw is a native of Oak Ridge. She graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 2002 and from Clark Atlanta University (CAU) in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She later obtained a Pharmacy Technician certificate from Roane State Community College in 2010.
Ms. Capshaw is currently employed by Summit View Pharmacy Services as a Long-Term Care Pharmacy Technician and is a Quality Auditor at CVS Health. Her early experience with financial management includes work at Big Lots as a Customer Service Specialist for seven years.
Ms. Capshaw is currently an Altrusa International of Oak Ridge member, Roane State Community College Pharmacy Technician Program Advisory Board member, Inc. member, Knoxville Area Urban League volunteer, and TN State NAACP Conference Executive Committee Member-At-Large. She was recently selected for the 2018 Inaugural Class of the NAACP's Next Generation program. She is also actively involved with the Scarboro Neighborhood Watch Group.
Ms. Capshaw has previously served as a TN Clinch Valley Boys and Girls Club tutor and volunteer and Oak Ridge/Anderson County Branch NAACP Membership Chair.
